ABOUT US


Dr Heinrich Koekemoer obtained his Medical Degree (MBChB) from the University of Pretoria in 2007, after which he completed his Diploma in Primary Emergency Care (DipPEC) in 2012.

Dr Koekemoer is devoted to intensive neonatal and paediatric care and, through his experience as Senior Medical Officer of Netcare 911 Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), has gained extensive knowledge and experience in pre-hospital, aviation, trauma and paediatric critical care. Dr Koekemoer’s compassion for children led him to complete his Fellowship through the College of Paediatricians of South Africa (FCPaed SA) in 2017 so that he could focus on paediatric care.

In 2017, Dr Koekemoer felt compelled to obtain his Master of Medicine (MMed) in Paediatrics at the University of the Witwatersrand and has since been practising as a paediatrician with a special interest in the paediatric ICU space, gastroenterology as well as the critically ill newborns in neonatal ICU. Additionally, he holds a diploma in Paediatric Palliative Care.

Dr Koekemoer is based at both Life Flora Hospital as well as Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital, and is passionate about children’s healthcare and development. He strives to provide his little patients with attentive care in all areas of their health and wellbeing. He is the proud Director of Hands on Paediatrics as well as one of the Paediatric Consultants for Life Flora Hospital and Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital. Dr Koekemoer is dedicated to educating new parents and families on their child’s health and development and is able to assist you in making healthcare-related decisions that can shape your child's future.
